Outreach Care Programme.
Under this programme the Ministry will offer assistance to caregivers of the orphans and vulnerable in their extended families/homes. The support to the children will be through provision of education, clothing, food and scholastic materials. For sustainability purposes, small scale microfinance facilities will be extended to help raise household incomes and promote food security. Nonetheless, emphasis shall be placed on equipping the children and the families with the necessary life skills and moral values that will help them make meaningful livelihoods and survival.
Infants Care Programme
Under this programme, the Ministry will take care of abandoned and rejected children at birth (0 years) to the age of two years then there after be integrated into the “All Inclusive Centres”
It is likely that some of the abandoned or rejected infants are severely malnourished, abused, diseased, or HIV positive thus calling for maximum care and attention.
Caregivers “foster mothers” shall be hired at for every 4 infants. |
