Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Warm greetings to you all in the precious Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Allow me re-echoe and have my voice added to all those who have spoken and highlighted the plight of the Orphan and Vulnerable Children of Africa.

Africa continues to experience increased numbers of orphans and vulnerable children as a result of poverty, wars and diseases. Thus the way forward for these children is quite challenging and calls for God’s people to partner, labour with us, create love, give hope and healing to the suffering children of Africa.

One of the East Africa Annual Conference’s efforts is the creation of Hope for Africa Children’s Academy to help tell the story and invite God’s people to join us in the struggle to liberate the future generation and also make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. The programmes that will enable us tackle some of the challenges of rebuilding the United Methodist Churches in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Rwand, Burundi and Sudan, which make up the East Africa Conference. At the sometimes restore ministries with special attention to the physical, social and spiritual well-being of women and children. Among some of the programmes are:-
i. Establishment of “all inclusive centre” to fight ignorance, poverty and disease.
ii. Large scale farming to avert hunger and poverty.
iii.Operate community based micro-finance projects targetive women and the youth.
iv.Starting outreach programmes to support persons infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.

I fully give my support and blessings to their efforts. I therefore call on all God’s people to join us for the good of Christ’s children.
